@Kieron,

Hi, welcome to the site! How about 克恩 （ke4en1）or 凯恩（kai3en1）？They are both translated from the pronunciation of your English name.

Hi. Great site, you really make learning vocab easy. I am going to China later in the year and hope to learn enough Chinese to get by without constantly pointing at a phrase book. Can you advise on some Chinese name I could use?
Thanks

Flashcards appear to have traditional rather than simplified Chinese characters. Is there a setting I need to change or anything?

Hi Nathan,
Looks like I will have to answer you on behalf of Victor and Amber. I think they have left us. My name is Jane from Beijing and I am currently looking after this site.
Thanks a lot for your compliment and also the problem you pointed out. This is actually a known issue already and our tech team is working on it right now. Please be patient with us. I will certainly let you know as soon as the problem is solved. In the mean while, pleas enjoy other lessons.

Best,

Jane

Hi Victor & Amber,
I've just begun with the introductory lessons of ChineseClass101 and am finding it great to follow and very motivating. I'm encountering a couple of problems with the flash cards though. Some of them seem to be labelled back to front, so the English comes up when I ask for Traditional, and vice versa, which is not a huge problem. But with some of them the audio is not working at all, and that is more serious.:cry:

@MuLan，

We do have surname before the first name, like “李伟”，“王致和”. As to the middle name, we don't usually have them. But many foreigners don't get the chinese surname as it sounds closer when we just call their first name. Like“大山”. Like many chinese people, when they get a english name, they only get the name like "Lucy""Joy" but not the full name.:razz:

您好！ 我叫木兰。 很高兴认识你。:smile:

I also have a couple questions... When getting a Chinese name, does that include getting a surname as well?
Also, since the surname comes first, does that mean the middle name will come before the first name?

谢谢！
