I don't think there is a 儿 sound after the word 公平，and there shouldn't be. For your second question, in this sentence you can say 他回来让我太高兴了。 But without 让 probably sounds better. The audio grammar discussion had some real gold nuggets pertaining to the use of 起来。 Echo gave a number of very useful sentences covering all the senses. The problem is that those sentences were not listed in the PDF. I spent several minutes transcribing the pinyin and would ask if they could be posted here in Chinese. I make flash cards of all the vocabulary words and often make flash cards of useful phrases. Theses phrases which Echo taught would definitely be flash card material for me! (Well, except maybe the one about the soft dog！ :smile:） Great lesson!!! I would like to make a suggestion/comment.
