It’s the holiday season! You can feel the excitement in the air, the children laughing, the carolers singing, families gathering… how many more days until Christmas? ChineseClass101.com can tell you! Well, sort of…. ChineseClass101.com’s annual Reverse Christmas Countdown begins today! Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa - regardless of which holiday you celebrate, you can take part in the celebration happening at ChineseClass101.com! As of today, EVERYTHING in ChineseClass101.com’s inventory is 25% OFF the retail price. But how is that a countdown?

Beginning today, everything in ChineseClass101.com’s inventory is 25% Off. Yes, everything! That means Basic Subscriptions, Premium Subscriptions, CDs, DVDs, even our incredible Gengo products - if we have it, it’s 25% OFF. But each day, the discount drops 1%. So tomorrow, the discount will be 24%, and the next day - 23% and so on, all the way through Christmas Day. On Christmas Day the discount will have dropped all the way to 13%. Still a good discount, but obviously, the faster you act the more you save! So keep listening in, as every day that passes the discount will get smaller and smaller. And sadly, as much as we would LOVE to have Christmas all year round, it just wouldn’t be as special if we did. Just as Christmas must come and go, so will ChineseClass101.com’s Christmas Countdown promotion - it will disappear with Christmas on December 25th. So use Coupon Code XMAS2009 to take advantage of ChineseClass101.com’s Christmas Countdown before it’s just a memory of Christmases past…

what the heck happened to Amber’s show? It’s been over a month since her last episode. Honestly, THAT SUCKS!!!! I took myself off of chinesclass101’s facebook fan list because of that and because somebody from the site recently responded to a message of mine saying there’ll be new Amber shows soon, but the shows never came!! I’m also going to stop letting my classmates and fellow Chinese learners know about this site because you guys aren’t consistent and you don’t check the message boards enough and you don’t even have a set time which you release new lessons ( this is especially annoying because people like me have to check 3 or 4 times before we see that you have released a new lesson)

Hi student,

I’m the one who responded to your earlier post. We did have two additional shows, but the audio ended up with problems so it was best not to put them online. Amber is leading an Absolute Beginner series of ours running from January to June. We’re trying to get her to our studios in Beijing for additional shows next year. Her availability is going to depend on her schedule in the States.

Lessons and shows are published between 5:30 and 6:30pm Beijing time. It should be quite rare for a lesson to publish after that time, although we have had that happen on occasion when we’ve run into technical problems. On the convenience front - have you thought about using the RSS feed to keep updated? It’s a bit more convenient that having to come and visit the site because it updates automatically whenever new shows get published. If you hook up the RSS feed with your iPod all of the shows will get downloaded automatically whenever you sync through iTunes.

Best,

–david
