Learn Chinese with ChineseClass101.com! As the runoff from the surprise summer storm washes another small child into the gutter, you can’t help but remember the smirking face of the CCTV weatherman on television that morning. “There is a five percent chance of rain,” you remember him saying. You’re not sure if he added, “But we don’t take it very seriously,” but that was the message you took. Which is why you left the house wearing a t-shirt. And shorts. And sandals. And everything was perfectly nice until five minutes ago when the heavens opened.

Learning Chinese with ChineseClass101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn Chinese! Now that we know how to talk about good weather though, it’s time to learn how to talk about the dark side of Mother Nature. In this Beginner Chinese lesson we review some of the language we already know for talking about the weather, and add new words for talking about rainy, windy, and stormy days. We also teach you how to put sentences into the past tense, and how to suggest that something has changed or just recently happened. So take a break from the weather and join us for today’s lesson. And once you’re done, visit us at ChineseClass101.com, where you will find tons of great Chinese lessons and learning materials. Leave us a message while you are there!

Appropriate lesson given the weather we’ve had here in Beijing this January. Worst storm since 1951 and temperatures down to 15 degrees below! Hope it’s all warmer where you guys are.
