Learn Chinese with ChineseClass101.com! Your well-meaning friend wants to take you back out on horseback today in China before you return home. But today’s agenda is bird watching. He believes this is a great way to see the country while relaxing and unwinding for the day. But you have a trick up your sleeve this time. Last time, he embarrassed you by continuously rolling his eyes at you every time you didn’t know the Chinese word for an animal. This time, knowing the agenda ahead of time, you prepared. As you saddle up and head out over the hills, you spot some vultures in the trees. Seizing an opportunity, you call out in Chinese, “Look, those vultures are eyeing that cheetah’s lunch!” Surprised, he looks at YOU and not the vulture. Acting as if you don’t notice, and not missing a beat, you call out in Chinese, “Ooh, hurry! That quail is about to fly away!” Still looking shocked, he decides to try to trick you. He looks around and calls out in Chinese, “Those ducks, they are bobbing in the water.” Calmly, you reply in Chinese, “Yes, there are a few in the water and few over there on the grass too.” Finally you smile, rolling your eyes, and tell him in Chinese, “I guess birds of a feather flock together. You didn’t think I was going to come unprepared again, did you?” Learning Chinese with ChineseClass101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn Chinese! Did you know that pigeons are kept as pets? They are also trained to compete in pigeon races.

Hi Editor,
1. Wdnesday: Advanced Blog S2 #7: Tough Choises of Morality in China.
The advertised Chinese text is nowhere to be found in the “Responses” section of this lessons.

2. Friday: Video S2 #13: Birds of a feather flock together.
There must be something wrong with your (or my?) set-up, but I am unable to open the video display or hear any sound. Clicking on the Video button yields a uniformly black display screen.

I have the same problems accessing the link below (within China). Interestingly though I am able to access the video on another computer outside of China using VPN tunnelling. Don’t tell me chineseclass101 is the latest victim of the Great Firewall of China.

The Advanced Blog S2 #7: Tough Choices of Morality in China should now have the simplified text in the comments section. The video works on firefox for both Macintosh and PCs. We use flowplayer for these videos.
