Learn Chinese with ChineseClass101.com! Everyone you know at school in China has found a boyfriend…that is, everyone but you! But you have one friend, convinced she’s the hook-up queen, who introduced you to “the perfect guy” she knew from a previous class. On a particularly nice day, your class decides to study in a pretty Chinese garden and guess who’s there - yes, the guy you met through your friend! You don’t want to be too mean, so you haven’t told him yet that you’re not interested. As you and your classmates are studying for your exams in the Chinese garden, he approaches you and begins to speak freely as if you have known each other forever. After a few moments, he returns to his friends. After studying, you and one of your classmates walk to the Chinese market for some light shopping. The same guy shows up and begins talking again! Once he leaves, your friend asks you in Chinese, “Is that your boyfriend?” Ducking into a shop, you whisper in Chinese, “No! He is not my boyfriend and he will never be my boyfriend!” Your friends asks you why you feel so strongly about this guy when he seems completely harmless and friendly. Peaking around the corner to see if he is gone, you reply in Chinese, “I went out one time with him and he tried to kiss me! That is so not cool!” Your friend now understands, helping you sneak out of the market and back home so the guy can’t follow. What is a girl to do?
