Anthony: Hi I am Anthony.
Echo: 大家好,我是Echo。
Anthony: And Echo, this is the capital of Sichuan province.
Echo: 成都。
Anthony: Sichuan is famous for Pandas, hotpot and hot women.
Echo: Right.
Anthony: And Cheng Doo has a special meaning for me and that I had firsthand experience of the infamies Sichuan earthquake.
Echo: 地震。
Anthony: In the summer of 2008, I was doing a study abroad program and luckily I have brought my camera to class and I actually happened to record the earthquake in progress.
Echo: 嗯,但很危险。
Anthony: Very dangerous and this was my first earthquake. So I am very unfamiliar with earthquake safety protocol.
Echo: 嗯,所以你没有椅子。
Anthony: Yes. Everything happened so fast that I didn’t know what to do. I might have even been laughing running out of the building.
Echo: 真的?
Anthony: Yes.
Echo: 天呐!
Anthony: Luckily for us, our campus did not sustain that much damage but there are other places outside of Cheng Du that were very heavily hit and I am sure you saw this on the news because there is extensive news coverage 24/7.
Echo: 对。
Anthony: Most of the citizens were afraid of aftershocks. So ten cities were built outside where people moved into. We tried to do our part assessing with the rescue effort.
