Beginner Lesson S2 #7 - The Elusive Chinese Toilet
Learn Chinese with ChineseClass101.com! On vacation in China, you decide to finally meet up with one of your friends that has always lived there. After shopping all day in Chinese markets - not even stopping for a break - you meet him at a popular Chinese restaurant and he has brought his parents along that you have not seen in several years. After a loving greeting from his parents, you reply in Chinese, "Excuse me. I need to go to the restroom. I have not been all day." Your friend laughs at you and replies in Chinese, "You really haven't been here in a while, have you?" Your friend's mother scolds him for laughing at you and tells you in Chinese, "They don't have a restroom here. In fact, the closest one is two streets over." Your friend laughs harder. You look a little desperate for a restroom and apparently, everyone can see that. Your friend's mother, that is obviously more compassionate than he is, suggests that you all enjoy the walk two streets over together so you can use the restroom and then you all would return to the restaurant together. Thank goodness someone cares. You playfully punch your friend. You'll remember this the next time your friend comes to see you in your hometown. You'll just have to make sure you choose the restaurant carefully! Learning Chinese with ChineseClass101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn Chinese. Learn Chinese with ChineseClass101.com! Vacationing in China, you are having a really hard time dealing with all of the crowds everywhere you go. You are claustrophobic so that doesn't help at all. Your friend has suggested many things such as going places at times that most people are busy doing other things, like sleeping. You obviously can't see all of the wonderful Chinese sites while it's dark though. You decide to try to see the places that may not be so crowded. You end up at a beautiful and tranquil Chinese garden. You and a few others are in line, but not many...until a group of college students bombard the ticket line. You are jam-packed against people.
