Learn Chinese with ChineseClass101.com! Your family has always wanted to travel to china for vacation and now you’re finally here! However, as you step outside and hail a cab, the problems begin. You snap at her, explaining that you can handle this…after all, you have been learning Chinese for the past six months…surely you can make it out of the taxi! You ask the driver in Chinese, “Please, speak more slowly.” Smiling, the taxi driver repeats in Chinese (at such a slow speed it makes you feel a little ridiculous), “Where-would-you-like-to-go?” Oh, okay! You reply proudly in Chinese, “I would like to go to the hotel!” The driver lets you off at the hotel. Moments later, your family emerges from the hotel and climbs back into the taxi. You ask him in Chinese, “I think I said my hotel?” Laughing, he replies in Chinese, “This is a hotel!! How did I know it wasn’t yours?”
