Thank you for your comment. It's actually a rule to put an apostrophe before any syllable that begins with a, e, or o, unless that syllable comes at the beginning of a word or immediately follows a hyphen or a dash.

For number 22 the example is : 二十二个小时 èrshí'èr ge xiǎoshí twenty-two hours
Is the apostophe after èrshí' , in pinyin, a typing error or a rule ?
