need help with this

Postby yularry3214 » May 14th, 2015 4:19 am

I'm a current subscribe of chineseclass101.

I want to know how to say an estimate number in chinese.

Like for example, his age is around 20+ years old. or cost is 30+ dollars. What is that wildcard in mandarin to express this.tones

like in cantonese, it is 20 in cantonese plus kei man.

Can't find this in any of the materials.

(Officially I’m “new in town” too, but I’ve been speaking Mandarin for 12 years at home with my Chinese wife.)

For “20+” is suggest 二十几 (èr shí jǐ)

Some other phrases that might help:

估计 (gūjì) = to estimate.

猜一猜 (cāi yī cāi) = to guess.

二十以上 (èrshí yǐ shàng) = >20. Or use 下 (xià).

二十一、二十二 (èrshíyī èrshíèr) = 21 or 22.

二十和三十中间 (èrshí hé sānshí zhōng jiān) = between 20 and 30.
