Hello Giraffe is : Chang2jing3lu4: if jing3 means neck,(source :pleco dictionary) why is not the same caractere as bo2zi? Do you use 'jing3' only for animals? Thanks for your reply
Neck = 脖子 bó zi. My wife, from China, periodically has neck pain, and that’s the word she uses.
颈椎 jǐngzhuī, means cervical vertebrae.
(BTW, I’m “new in town,” but I’ve been speaking Mandarin for a dozen years now. Just joined Chinese101 mostly to brush up on my 听力 (listening comprehension) before going off to China for my stepdaughter’s wedding there.
