Beginning Lesson

Postby pwgrant » October 31st, 2010 10:52 pm

Even as an absolute beginner I have noticed that one of
the speakers in the dialogue is not a native speaker. I'm
sure she speaks excellent Chinese, but her pronunciation
varies from how the native speaker pronounces the same
words. I don't think this is a very good practice.

Hi there,
First of all, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you to join us on ChineseClass101.com. In our podcast, we always make sure that we have one native Mandarin speaking host and one native English speaking host. This way we make sure our listeners can hear and learn the standard Mandarin Chinese. Hope you enjoy our lessons. Let us know if you had any other quesetions.

Regards,

Jane :)

I like it that the lessons have both native and non-native speaker.
Please don't change it!!

If an American/Canadian can learn to speak proper Mandarin , there's hope for the rest of us ;-)

Would be nice to have a few video lessons, where it is possible to see both speakers
especially to see the mouth movements.
Maybe some beginner ones on how to shape the mouth and tongue positions for proper pronunciations especially the ones that don't come naturally in English.
