I just clicked on the image that showed up by my name and it took me to a website where I could upload one.

I did that and still no luck,
I added my JPEG and it showed me a HTML
Link but I dont know what to do with the link

I just did the gravatar signup and it appears to work. There are a couple reasons it might not be working for you though (or appear not to be working).

1.) The e-mail address you used differs from that used to sign-up with ChineseClass101.com

2.) You web browser is cached and is showing you the "older" version of the screen

To fix 1 simple add the appropriate e-mail address and to fix 2 try refreshing the page a few times (or clearing the cache). Goodluck!

but how come i dont see the avatar on your posts or Davids

Where are you looking for the avatar on posts? The "forums" and "individual lessons forums" are separate entities. Setting up a gravitar won't add an avatar to your forum posts. This will will only effect when you make a post on specific lessons located under the learning center that are posting using your e-mail address. Does this make sense?

In short, the "forum" tab doesn't allow for avatars, but the "learning center" does with gravitar setup.

So, I edited my chineseclass101 profile to match my gravatar email address. no luck.

Can you explain in more technical terms how this even links or should work?

Will changing my profile on this site ever 'go look' for the gravatar?
