Can't set height customised word of the day widget

Postby bigal » December 11th, 2010 1:03 am

Can't set the height in the customised version of the chinese word of the day widget
on the page http://www.chineseclass101.com/chinese-phrases/

When you click custom size it lets you set the width but not the height.
Same error with chrome , firefox , safari , ie 8 and i.e 9.

windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
chrome 9.0.957
firefox 3.6.12
safari 5.02
ie 8.0.7600.16385

Can set the size by modifing the produced javascript but thats only good for people who know javascript.

There is also an error in the pinyin for the sentence for today(saturdays) word of the day

起飞
qǐ fēi

where as the phrase has qfēi

screenshot http://www.alexthegeek.com/images/cwotd.png

or select todays/saturdays date on the widget 2010-12-11
at http://www.chineseclass101.com/chinese-phrases/

Also can qǐfēi be used for departure ?
Doesn't it mean take off

Wouldn't
出发和到达的时间 (Chūfā hé dàodá de shíjiān)
be more correct ?

Unless the phrase is trying to say take off and arrival times ?

This is done by design to maintain the widget proportional so that it doesn't become "distorted".

Then why leave the height box visible , just don't make it visible.

So is 起飞 more correctly departure or take off ?

i.e is this an aircraft/airport only phrase or is it the same for all forms of transport ?

Thank you for bringing these additional errors to our attention. It turns out the font we were embedding in our widget was incomplete and missing certain pinyin characters. We have updated our widget code to use a different and more complete font set. This resolved most of the issues you brought to our attention. In order for the new font to appear, you will need to clear your browser's cache or use shift-refresh to reload the page without cache.
