Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Cho: When meeting someone for the first time, some Chinese people will ask Nǐ shì zuò shénme de ? This question generally means "What do you do?" or "What is your job?" Don't be surprised if you get asked this by someone you’ve just met; it’s a common icebreaker that people in China use to get to know each other better.

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Cho: 再见。

Hello DENNIS,

Thank you for your comment.

You could find our reading and writing resources here: https://www.chineseclass101.com/chinese-resources/

It's best to familiarize yourself with the strokes, stroke orders and radicals first.

On this page, you could download practice sheets PDF to practice writing the characters: https://www.chineseclass101.com/chinese-alphabet/

Also, in each lesson, you can download Hanzi Close Up PDF worksheets, the download button is below the title.

Hope it helps, let us know if you have any questions.

Hello .,

Thank you for your comment. We're teaching Mandarin Chinese, it's simplified Chinese, but you can find the traditional version of the characters as well in the dialogue and vocabulary sections.

Thank you for learning with us, let us know if you have any questions.
