大家好。我是李殷如。
"Hi everyone! I'm Yinru Li."
In this lesson, you'll learn how to ask about someone's well-being.
This is Mark Lee, and he's in the office break-room.
He greets Wei Wang, a colleague, and asks,
"How are you?"
你好吗?(Nǐ hǎo ma?)
Listen to the conversation and focus on the question.
Ready?
你好吗?(Nǐ hǎo ma?)
我很好。(Wǒ hěn hǎo.)
Once more with the English translation.
你好吗?(Nǐ hǎo ma?)
"How are you?"
我很好。(Wǒ hěn hǎo.)
"I'm good."

Hello Byron,

Thank you for your comment. This phrase does exist but we don't use it between friends and families, it's more for talking to strangers, people we're not familiar with.

You may check out this video to learn more about how native speakers greet each other:

Is it true that native Chinese speakers do not say 你好吗?
