Hi, Philip,

The past tenses and the perfect tenses in English and in Chinese are not all the same.

In Chinese, if the action is finished(not acting now), we think it can be used in a perfect tense.

Correct: 你去过英国吗?Nǐ qù guo Yīng guó ma ?(Have you ever been to England?)

Correct: 你昨天去过学校吗? Nǐ zuótiān qù guo xuéxiào ma ?(Did you go to school yesterday?)

(Literally) Have you been to school yesterday?

Hi, why does she use 过 for the past tense here? Should it not just be used to ask if something has ever happened before? e.g. Have you ever been to england.
