| 我打算去海边。 (Wǒ dǎsuàn qù hǎibiān.) |
| Once more with the English translation. |
| 你春节会做什么？ (Nǐ chūnjié huì zuò shénme?) |
| “What are you doing for Spring Festival?” |
| 我打算去海边。 (Wǒ dǎsuàn qù hǎibiān.) |
| “I'm planning to go to the beach.” |
| First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you doing for Spring Festival?” |
| That's: |
| 你春节会做什么？ (Nǐ chūnjié huì zuò shénme?) |
| The Spring Festival is marks the new year, according to the traditional Chinese calendar. |
| Listen to it again: |
| 你春节会做什么？, 你春节会做什么？ (Nǐ chūnjié huì zuò shénme?, Nǐ chūnjié huì zuò shénme?) |
| This Chinese sentence literally translates as “You Spring Festival will do what?” But it means “What are you doing for Spring Festival?". |
| Now, how do you answer this question? |
| The pattern is: |
| 我打算[plan]。 (Wǒ dǎsuàn [plan].) |
| “I’m planning to [plan].” |
| For example: |
| “I'm planning to go to the beach.” |
