All right guys, another straightforward lesson from your friend Michael here at survivalphrases.com, today we are just going to give you a whole bunch of useful adjectives. So starting from the top, let’s get going. The first one is happy, 高兴 (gāo xìng), the tones for this are first tone 高(gāo), fourth tone 兴 (xìng). Next one is sad, 悲伤(bēi shāng), this is two first tones in a row, 悲伤(bēi shāng), sad. Now we have, interesting, 有趣(yǒu qù), this is third tone followed by fourth tone, 有趣(yǒu qù), interesting. Not interesting, 没意思(méi yì si), not interesting or boring. This is second tone 没(méi), fourth tone 意(yì) and then no tone for 思(si), 没意思(méi yì si), not interesting or boring. The next one is tired, 累(lèi), this is fourth tone, 累(lèi), tired. Now lonely, 寂寞(jì mò), two fourth tones in a row, 寂寞(jì mò), lonely. Next one we are going to do is scary, 可怕(kě pà), this is third tone and then four tone, 可怕(kě pà), scary. The next one is afraid, 怕(pà), fourth tone, 怕(pà), afraid, 怕(pà). The next one is uncomfortable, 难受(nán shòu), second tone followed by fourth tone, 难受(nán shòu). Lastly we are going to finish up with a group centering around good. The way you say good in Chinese is 好(hǎo), third tone, 好(hǎo). Now if you want to say bad, you just say not good, 不好(bù hǎo). 不(bù) means no, fourth tone and then third tone, 不好(bù hǎo). But if you want to say something as great, then you put 太(tài) in front and 了(le) at the end, 太(tài) means to or it just accentuates the amount of the adjective. So 太好了(tài hǎo le), 太(tài) is fourth tone and 了(le) has no tone. So it’s fourth tone, third tone, no tone. 太好了(tài hǎo le). That was pretty straightforward guys. Hope you enjoyed it.

Hello Lee,

Thank you for your comment. "Bundle Lee" is a name isn't it? In Chinese it can be 本德 (běn dé) 李 (lǐ), it's a transliteration.

Thank you for learning with us, let us know if you have any questions.

Hi 乐天,

Do you mean "breathing capacity"? If yes, that's 肺活量 (fèihuóliàng).
