Dialogue

Lesson Transcript

Do you know how to talk about health problems in Chinese?
You'll learn how in just a moment.
Hi, my name is Fangfang, and this is Three Step Chinese by ChineseClass101.com.
In this lesson, you'll learn to describe common health problems through a quick conversation.
Let's look at the dialogue.
As you listen, pay attention to how they ask about the topic and how the other person responds.
杰森,你看起来不舒服。怎么了?(Jiésēn, nǐ kàn qǐlái bù shūfu. Zěnme le?)
我头疼,肚子也不舒服。(Wǒ tóu téng, dùzi yě bù shūfu.)
你发烧了吗?(Nǐ fāshāo le ma?)
我不确定。(Wǒ bú quèdìng.)
那你要不要回家休息一下呢?(Nà nǐ yào bú yào huíjiā xiūxi yíxià ne?)
好的,我要回去了。(Hǎo de, wǒ yào huíqù le.)
Let's hear it with the English translation.
杰森,你看起来不舒服。怎么了?(Jiésēn, nǐ kàn qǐlái bù shūfu. Zěnme le?)
"Jason, you don't look well. What's wrong?"
Pay attention to the next sentence. It follows the key speaking pattern you'll learn later in this lesson.
我头疼,肚子也不舒服。(Wǒ tóu téng, dùzi yě bù shūfu.)
"I have a headache, and my stomach also feels unwell."
你发烧了吗?(Nǐ fāshāo le ma?)
"Do you have a fever?"
我不确定。(Wǒ bú quèdìng.)
"I'm not sure."
那你要不要回家休息一下呢?(Nà nǐ yào bú yào huíjiā xiūxi yíxià ne?)
"Then do you want to go home and rest a bit?"
好的,我要回去了。(Hǎo de, wǒ yào huíqù le.)
"Okay, I'm going back now."
