@蓝大卫

“晚” means "late" as an adjective, and "night" or "evening" as a noun, as in 夜晚(ye4 wan3) and 傍晚(bang4 wan3). 礼服 is a generic term for suits. People wear 礼服 for special occasion like dinner parties, weddings etc.

When I saw the term 晚礼服 and the translation "dress" I thought "isn't 晚 the word for late?" I used YellowBridge and it translated it as "evening dress". Wouldn't 礼服 lǐfú be a more generic term for this type of lesson?

@Maxiewawa,

So did the term "hicky" lead the term "redneck"?

@Imcjipo,

夹克(Jia2ke4) is a kind of 上衣(Shang4yi1). Also, I think 夹克(Jia2ke4) is a bit old. People are using 外套(Wai4tao4) more now.
