The Chinese "q" sound doesn't sound like the English one at all, it sounds something like a mix of "t" and "sh". You may take a look at this video lesson for more details.

It seems every word having a 'q' sounds like 'tch' instead of 'kw'. And if every word could have it's distinct meaning when tapped on since the Chinese English grammar will disarrange words into different order.
