may i know the chinese if i want to go to the toilet...rather i used wo yao qu shang ce suo or wo yao qu xi shou jian? which one is more commonly used ?

Yes that's right, the course materials are designed based on language spoken in Beijing, where it's more common to use "er" than "li".

It seems that these phrases default to Northern Chinese endings (er, rather than li), such as "nar" rather than "nali" and "zher" rather than "zheli". When I lived in Shenzhen, the "li" ending was much more common. My Taiwanese friends also used "li" endings.
