Thank you for your comment. In general, a prepositional phrase is put between the subject and the verb. But there are always exceptions. With 在, "在 + location" can be placed after certain verbs that indicate movement or location.
For example, you'll always see these verbs placed before "在 + location".
他住在美国。(Tā zhù zài Měiguó.) He lives in the US.
他坐在椅子上。(Tā zuò zài yǐzi shàng.) He sits on a chair.
不要站在这里。(Bùyào zhàn zài zhèlǐ.) Don't stand here.
The best way is to read and listen more. As always, let us know if you have any questions.
I would like to ask you something.
Can the prepositional phrase be used in both places of before and after the verb?
I am just asking this because I have heard before only that the prepositional phrase can be used before the verb.
But I also see the usage of the prepositional phrase before the verb on this page.
I am looking forward for your answer to my question.
Thanks for your kindness.
