typing pinyin

Postby Bouks » May 28th, 2009 5:11 pm

I just installed Chinese in my system (Vista), and I'm starting to understand how it works, but I can't figure out how to type in pinyin with the tone marks. I have seen people do this in their posts, and would like to learn. How is it done?

I downloaded the following page to my computer, which I open up to type the tone marks. It's a little inconvenient but it's the best method I've found so far. Beware that it will resize your browser window!

nǐhǎo

Hello,

If you use windows try this Pinyinput
http://www.chinese-forums.com/showthread.php?t=13005

I use windows vista and have the Microsoft pinyin IME installed.
Once I installed the above Pinyinput I was able to type the nǐhǎo.
I just type ni3hao3 and all the tone marks show up!

I just installed this so I do not know if there are any other issues.
