What do I use?

Postby mcfarljw » June 15th, 2009 12:27 pm

I'm a strong believer in mixing and matching the methods used for studying each day. So here are a few of the Chinese resources on the web that I jump between for various results.

Reading, Guided Course
- This is basically a complete 4 level school Chinese course created by the instructor at Rutgers. It's broken down into 4 levels (courses) and each of those are individually broken down into various lessons. Inside each lessons you'll find 1 dialog (with audio), new vocabulary words, grammar notes and example phrases using the new vocabulary. It's an excellent outline to follow for those of you trying to organize your own studying. I did check the license and it's free for anyone to use, not just students of that university.

Writing, Pronunciation, Dictionary
- This is my own the go portable Chinese "dictionary". There are several free resources out there that do this, but I'm particlarly fond of the formated PDF's it can print. I can print a slew of pages and take them to a coffee shop to work on writing characters (away from staring at a computer screen!).

Writing, Pronunciation, Memorization
- This was mentioned before, but I'm quite fond of the concept behind it and felt it was certainly worth mentioning again.
