Broken font in PDFs in Foxit reader

Postby GreenAirplane » July 24th, 2009 7:35 pm

Hello,
I'm using Foxit reader to view the pdf files. I can't help noticing there is something wrong with the text. Interestingly, it's not the Chinese characters, it's the English. To be more specific, the distance between characters is all wrong. Here's a preview of what it looks like:

I'd like to know if this also happens in Adobe reader or other pdf viewers. I'd also like to find a solution that does not involve using Adobe reader instead of Foxit, since the latter has much better performance and uses far less system resources than the former.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas how this could be fixed?

Hello GreenAirplane,

Which PDF are you viewing? The Lesson Notes or Lesson Notes Lite? Can you give a link to a particular lesson?

Thank you,
Charles

the sample picture I posted here is from beginner lesson 1 - introductions
http://www.chineseclass101.com/pdfs/B_S ... ass101.pdf lesson notes
but this happens in more than just one file, in fact I think I have the same problem with all of them. I have just tried opening the aforementioned file on my laptop (in Foxit) the characters are even more distorted, in fact they overlap each other in some places, it's barely readable.

Thank you for the additional information.

How does the Lesson Notes Lite file look in comparison?
