Cho: Although Nǐ yǒu qìchē ma? and Nǐ yǒu méiyǒu qìchē? both mean “do you have a car?”, Nǐ yǒu qìchē ma? is a little more formal than Nǐ yǒu méiyǒu qìchē? When you say Nǐ yǒu méiyǒu qìchē ?, you should be be careful about your tone, or you might sound rude. |

Mood particles indicate a mood, tone or attitude. In the sentence 有啊 (yǒu ā), it just indicates a tone of certainty, that the speaker does have a pen. We can also just say 有 (yǒu).

Why do we include the mood particle in response? Why not just "yǒu"? When do should the mood particle be used?
