Hello, everyone! Today we’re going to learn 10 Hardest Words to Pronounce in Chinese. Ok, let’s get started!
1. 去 (qù) "to go"
去 (qù) also has the meaning as “last”; for example, “last year” 去年 (qùnián).
去登山 (Qù dēngshān) “To go hiking”
watch me, 去 (qù), it’s just like you want to kiss somebody, 去 (qù).
And your tongue touches your teeth, 去 (qù).
Yeah! You did good.
2. 喝水 (hē shuǐ) "to drink water"
The hard part is 水 (shuǐ).
But in the casual life we just speak like, 水 (shuí). It’s totally ok, no one speaks 水 (shuǐ).
喝水 (hē shuí) is ok.
3. 四十 (sì shí) "forty"
You just say, imagine the word “slim”; this “s” doesn’t have vibration here, but for “four” 四 (sì) you have vibration.
You can touch here and feel the vibration, that’s correct.
You for 十 (shí), just imagine the word “shift”; “sh”, you add some vibration here.
十 (shí).
Yeah, that’s right.

四是四,十是十。十四是十四,四十是四十。 (Sì shì sì, shí shì shí. Shísì shì shísì, sìshí shì sìshí.)
4. 姜 (jiāng) "ginger"
Ok guys, I want to share a Chinese slang with you,
姜还是老的辣。 (Jiāng háishì lǎo de là.)
The meaning of the words mean “the older ginger is more spicy than the younger ginger.” But the real meaning is, like, “a senior/elder person can handle complication situation better than a younger person.
5. 日 (rì) "day"
节日 (jié rì) “holiday”
“What‘s your favorite holiday?” 你最喜欢的节日是什么? (Nǐ zuì xǐhuān de jiérì shì shénme?)
我最喜欢的节日是国庆日。 (Wǒ zuì xǐhuān de jiérì shì guóqìng rì.)
“My favourite holiday is National Day.” Because we have one week of holiday! Ha ha ha!
6. 汉语 (hàn yǔ) "Chinese language"
You can just say 语 (yú), 汉语 (hàn yú), it’s ok for the casual way.
“I am studying Chinese language.” 我正在学汉语。 (Wǒ zhèngzài xué hànyǔ.)
More casual way, just like, 我正在学汉语。 (Wǒ zhèngzài xué hànyú.)
Yes, you see that? 语 (yú), 汉语 (hàn yú), it’s ok.
7. 知道 (zhī dao) "know"
I know the hard part is 知 (zhī), you just imagine the word “manage”, feel the vibration.
Just add vibration, 知 (zhī) is ok.
And for a sentence, come here, come here!
“Do you know her name?” 你知道她的名字吗? (Nǐ zhīdào tā de míngzì ma?)
8. 脚 (jiǎo) "foot”
And also it can be used for ”feet”.
“My foot got injured.” 我的脚受伤了。 (Wǒ de jiǎo shòushāngle.)
“I can't walk.” 我不能走路了。 (Wǒ bùnéng zǒulùle.)
脚 (jiǎo), but you can say 脚 (jiáo).
9. 轮 (lún) "wheel"
And it makes up the word 轮胎 (lún tāi) “tire”.
You can say, 我的轮胎坏了,车子不走了。 (Wǒ de lúntāi huàile, chēzi bù zǒule.)
10. 辞职 (cí zhí) "resign"
I know the hard part is 职 (zhí). You just imagine barbecue sizzling zzt zzt, 职 (zhí).
我不想干了,我要辞职。 (Wǒ bùxiǎng gānle, wǒ yào cízhí.)
That means “I don't want to work here any more, I want to resign.”
And “resignation letter” is 辞职信 (cí zhí xìn).
辞职信 (cí zhí xìn).
And also a very official way to say is 辞呈 (cí chéng).
