Hello Shanyue,

Thank you for your comment. Whether an action is in the past, present or future heavily relies on the context, 了 doesn't always appear in sentences about past actions.

In this sentence: 人们曾早上通勤。曾 means 曾经 céngjīng, it means "once", "before", it's used to express an action happened some time in the past.

Hope it helps, let us know if you have any questions.

Hello

I don't understand how this is the past:

past tense 婴儿在路上走。 "The baby walked on the road."

Also can you explain the 曾 in this sentence?

past tense 人们曾早上通勤。 "The people commuted in the morning."

Thank you.

@蓝大卫,

飞行 can be a noun and a verb. It means voyage or to have a voyage. 飞翔 is only a verb, meaning to fly.

The video says: 乘客正乘飞机飞行, but the lesson notes say 乘客正乘飞机飞翔。

Other than pronunciation, is there any fundamental difference between 飞行 and 飞翔?
