Hello, guys! Welcome! I’m Yuting. Today our topic is Chinese New Year, it’s also called spring festival. Ok, let's begin! |
1. 春节 (Chūnjié) “Chinese New Year" |
(Chūnjié duìyú zhōngguó rén lái jiǎng shì zuì zhòngyào de jiérì.) "The Chinese New Year is the most important festival for Chinese." |
And that's because in the spring festival, all of the family member will go back home for the family reunion, so this is meaningful. |
2. 春联 (Chūnlián) "New Year‘s scroll" |
(Chūnlián yǒu shànglián, xiàlián hé héngpī.) "New Year's scroll has the first line, second line and the top scroll." |
(Shànglián hé xiàlián shì duìyìng de.) ”The first line and the second line are corresponding.” |
3. 红包 (Hóngbāo) "red envelope" |
This is my favorite word. |
(Guònián hǎo! Hóngbāo ná lái!) (“Happy New Year! Red envelopes please!”) |
(Zài zhōngguó, zhǎngbèimen bìxū yào gěi háizimen hóngbāo.) "In China, seniors must give red envelopes to children." |
Because I’m not married and I don't have a child, so I still get red envelope from my father and mother, and my grandmother. Yeah! |
(Jiǎozi) "dumpling" |
(Měi gèrén guònián dōu yīnggāi chī jiǎozi.) "Everyone should eat dumplings during the Chinese New year." |
Dumpling is not only a kind of foot, it also means family and love. |
(Chūnjié liánhuān wǎnhuì) "CCTV Spring Festival Gala" |
(Zài chúxì yè zhè yītiān, suǒyǒu zhòng guó rén dūhuì kàn chūnjié liánhuān wǎnhuì.) "On the Spring Festival Eve, all the Chinese will watch the CCTV Spring Festival Gala." |
So if you want to be famous, you just need a 30-second performance in this kind of gala, you will become so famous! |
Ok guys, today we learned several words about the Spring Festival in China, and my favorite word is the red envelope! Because I still have the red envelopes. |
