Hi I am Yinru. Welcome back to weekly words and this week, we are going to talk about computer words. Yeah very exciting.

The first one is 键盘(jiànpán)"keyboard". The thing you type on, keyboard.

How do I say 键盘(jiànpán) in a sentence…我很喜欢这个键盘，因为它是白色的。(Wǒ hěn xǐhuan zhège jiànpán, yīnwèi tā shì báisè de.)"I like this keyboard because it's white." Okay. I don’t know why I said that.

Okay the next one is 笔记本电脑(bǐjìběn diànnǎo)"laptop computer”.

笔记本电脑(bǐjìběn diànnǎo)"laptop computer" is a kind of computer. 笔记本 (bǐjìběn) means notebook in Chinese. So notebook computer is laptop computer. 惠普是笔记本电脑的一个牌子。(Huìpǔ shì bǐjìběn diànnǎo de yígè páizi.)"HP is a brand of laptop computer." because that is the one I used at college, the first one I ever used.

And 耳机(ěrjī)"headphones"

The thing you wear over your head to listen to music and other things and it means headphones. 我的耳机坏了。(Wǒ de ěrjī huàile.)"My headphones are broken."

Okay 显示器(xiǎnshìqì).

显示器(xiǎnshìqì) is the thing you look at at a computer which is monitor. 我家里的电脑需要换一台显示器。(Wǒ jiālǐ de diànnǎo xūyào huàn yì tái xiǎnshìqì.)"The computer at my home needs a new monitor."

话筒(huàtǒng)"microphone" means microphone. Chinese like to go to karaoke. 这个话筒声音太大了！(Zhège huàtǒng shēngyīn tài dàle!)"This microphone is too loud!" this microphone is too loud. 话筒(huàtǒng) Not your fault.
